We are pleased to announce that Willamette Vital Health is the 2024 winner of the Ingrid Thornquist Award.  The Ingrid Thornquist Award recognizes the efforts of an outstanding Pet Peace of Mind partner demonstrating a high level of commitment to the program’s mission to ensure treasured pets are included in the patient’s circle of care.

Willamette Vital Health has been a Pet Peace of Mind partner since 2012, providing exceptional care and rehoming services to pets of their patients.  In 2023, they provided services to 90 pets. So far in 2024, they have provided pet care assistance to 85 pets.  They are also active in their community, partnering with their local animal welfare organizations and raising awareness for their Pet Peace of Mind program. Not only are they passionate about the Pet Peace of Mind program at a local level, but they are strong advocates for the program on a national level. Â

Barb Hansen, CEO of Oregon Hospice and Palliative Care Association, accepted this award on Willamette Vital Health’s behalf at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Annual Leadership Conference. It will be presented to Shelley Wagener, WVH Volunteer Coordinator, and the rest of the Pet Peace of Mind team later this month.
