The Ingrid Thornquist Award, previously the Pet Peace of Mind Program of the Year Award, recognizes the efforts of an exceptional Pet Peace of Mind partner demonstrating a high level of commitment to the founding program philosophy to ensure treasured pets are included in the patient’s circle of care. Through this award, Pet Peace of Mind proudly recognizes and honors our partner and a major benefactor, whose outstanding generosity demonstrates a spirit of compassion and caring.
We are pleased to announce the winner of our 2021 Ingrid Thornquist Award.
This year the deserving winner is Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care in Tavares, FL. Despite the difficulties of working around COVID-19 in the past year, Cornerstone’s Pet Peace of Mind team helped 114 pets and their families. Twenty of those pets were re-homed. Additional fostering of pets both short and long term assisted them in their efforts to ensure best placement.
Cornerstone Hospice worked tirelessly to successfully ensure the care and safety of all of their patients, pets, and volunteers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers continued to deliver pet food and supplies, walk dogs, and transport pets to the vet or groomer. They even delivered Pet Peace of Mind gift bags to each patient with pets in the home. The bags contained goodies such as treats, bandanas, poop bags, can toppers, and a Pet Peace of Mind Pet Planning guide.
Cornerstone Hospice recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary with Pet Peace of Mind. As in everything they do, their commitment and dedication to the Pet Peace of Mind program was reflected in a video they produced commemorating their 10-year program history.
Please join us in congratulating Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care on their outstanding achievement!
