The Love Between A Person And Their Pet Never Fades

We’re often reminded how deeply our pets touch our lives. For patients facing the end of life, that bond means everything.

Our mission is simple but powerful:  to help hospice patients keep their beloved pets by their side and to ensure those pets are cared for and loved when their human can no longer do so.

One of those stories belongs to Robin and her dog, Mya.

When Robin entered hospice care, she had one constant companion: Mya. Volunteer Shannon Zeisloft (“Z”) began helping by taking Mya on weekly walks, sometimes ending with a treat from Burger King. As Robin’s health declined, she asked Z to find Mya a loving home. Z agreed to foster her until she found just the right match.

But as the days passed, Z realized that Mya had already found her forever home with her. Z continued bringing Mya to visit Robin whenever she stayed at the hospice house, giving them both the comfort of one another’s presence. This is the heart of what your support makes possible.

When you give to Pet Peace of Mind, you’re helping terminally ill patients experience peace and dignity, knowing that their beloved pets will be cared for and loved just as they have loved them.

You’re giving the gift of compassion, connection, and closure.
